Tutoring Services

Tutoring is truly the heart of The Academic Link. Any SU student is eligible for FREE individual or group tutoring in most subjects, including Accounting, Business, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Education, English, History, Information Systems, Law, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religion and Sociology. Please come to The Link to schedule an appointment or if you need a tutor in a course not listed here.

In addition to our course content-based tutoring, we also offer:

  • Reading comprehension and effective writing support
  • Study skills assistance
  • Time management strategies
  • Test taking tips
  • Note taking and textbook annotation skills

Finally, the university also offers Smarthinking, a 24/7 online tutoring service, which you can access through your Blackboard account.

Tutors and students interested in becoming tutors can visit our Just for Tutors page for more information and tutoring resources. Faculty can visit the Just for Faculty page to learn more about our services and to download our test administering form.

Scheduling your Tutoring Sessions

Students may sign up for tutoring by visiting The Academic Link in Knott Hall 201 or by calling 443-334-2285. Remember to:

  • Arrive on time for your tutoring appointments
  • Sign in to AccuTrack at the reception desk using your SUOne card
  • Come prepared with notes, text, and materials
  • Communicate your needs to the tutor
  • Ask questions
  • Give The Link 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. View our no-show and cancellation policy for more details.
